In fact, it was the colonists' protesting against these laws, and therefore Britain's increased imposition of them, that led to the Battles at Lexington and Concord. Zenger had gone against many rules for many of which had started the beginning of a new era that will change the the media and how they approach situations more openly. it had started on August 5 1735 as Andrew Hamilton had called upon an open jury to decide the defendant fate. Such acts included the Stamp Act and Intolerable Acts. It asks the colonists to unite as one, because they will be stronger, and reminds them about the tyrranous deeds the British performed. This song also blames the British for treating the colonists as slaves instead of freemen. Significance: This document is significant because it shows the fighting spirit of the colonists and their determination to gain freedom from their oppressors. The colonists wished to be treated fairly as Englishmen and wanted to be represented in Parliament. After being taxed without representation and having many appeals rejected, the colonists feared that their liberties were being taken away. Title: The Letter of Columbus to Luis De Sant Angel Announcing His Discovery

In this letter Columbus' ignorance is shown as he believes he has landed in the Indies. In the letter he calls the inhabitants Indians as a result. Columbus' lust for riches is also shown as he vividly describes rivers filled with gold and other riches. Significance: This document is significan because it shows that from the very beginning Columbus and the Europeans were seeking to abuse the Indians and steal their riches.
